Cinematic Elopement Photography in Joshua Tree | McKenzie & JT

Updated: Feb 14, 2023

Cinematic Elopement in Joshua Tree, Ca// Couples may consider eloping for various reasons, such as wanting a more intimate or private ceremony, avoiding the stress and expense of a larger wedding, or being unable to travel due to various constraints. Eloping can provide an opportunity for couples to focus on their commitment to each other without distractions or pressure from others, and to have a more personalized and meaningful experience.

Joshua Tree National Park in California is a popular location (and one of my personal FAV LOCATIONS) for elopements due to its stunning natural beauty and unique desert landscape. The park offers a variety of scenic locations for couples to exchange their vows, including rocky formations, cactus gardens, and panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains. McKenzie and Jt chose to elope near Split Rock exchanging vows and stopping for a midday cookie picnic. Then, we planed a hike during sunset to arch rock. Couples may choose to have their ceremony at one of the park's designated wedding sites or opt for a more secluded spot for a private experience. The park does require a permit, you can find more information by visiting: https://www.nps.gov/jotr/planyourvisit/permitsandreservations.htm

Using a cinematic photography style approach that seeks to create a visual narrative of a couple's elopement that feels like a movie. This style often includes the use of dramatic lighting, creative compositions, and unique angles to capture the emotional moments of the day in an artistic”out of the box” way.
