Summer Elopement in Yosemite National Park | Taylor & Justice | digital + 35mm hybrid photography

Summer Elopement in Yosemite National Park, CA. Digital +35mm wedding photography// Eloping in Yosemite National Park offers a truly unique and awe-inspiring experience that is simply unmatched. Renowned for its stunning natural beauty, including towering granite cliffs, majestic waterfalls, lush forests, and serene meadows. The park's diverse landscapes provide an incredible backdrop for couples who share a love for the outdoors and want to exchange vows in a serene and natural setting. The tranquility and grandeur of the park create a profound sense of intimacy and connection. This years historic winter season left record-breaking snowpacks. In March 2023, the snow reached 15 feet and forced the closure of Yosemite National Park. By the time Taylor & Justice made it into the park for their elopement the water levels were more than three times the previous year! It was bananas to see the difference from the last time I was here!

We managed to hit up three different spots within the park and visited the lower falls as our last stop. I've never seen anything like it, before we even got to the falls we were witnessing pop up waterfalls in places there usually aren't any waterfalls in. By the time we arrived at the head of the trail you could FEEL the water, and we were still far away! I looked at Taylor & Justice and told them we were going to get soaked. Because it was the last spot these two adventure lovers were completely open to it and OMG it was EPIC!! Normally this is an area that is wall to wall covered with tourists and you typically need to hike to get away from the crowds. Not on this day! The falls were RAGING and no one could stand in front of them longer than a few minutes without getting completely drenched. The people who were there would run in for a quick photo and then run away! When we stepped into that little wind tunnel, Taylor & Justice could barely hear me, but it was beautiful to watch them look at each other and then see her dress dance and twirl around them in the wind. When we went to leave an even better moment, if that is even possible, happened. The sun dipped just below the mountain and as we were walking back the falls made it looks like it was raining in the forest. There was this moment where I just stopped because the light was so mesmerizing and freaking MAGICAL that I simply couldn't believe my eyes. That might sound like an exaggeration but I dare you to look at this session and tell me any differently :)
